We asked for works! ;)

Jade Shih

Monday, March 11th, we had a meeting with Mr. Neyo of the Higher Achievement at Lakeland Elementary/Middle school. (Connected through teacher Melissa, yayy!) And it went very well! Mr. Neyo seemed to get the intention and the value of this project right away, and he was extra generous and support with our work.

Thus, through this connection, we have the opportunity to run three to four workshops with 7th-8th graders in the Higher Achievement program at Lakeland. Which is very excited yet a bit intimidating (in a positively challenging way!) for us.

In those workshops, we are not only going to introduce the FEEL, IMAGINE, DO, and SHARE framework of Design for Change to the students, but also taking an equity-centered approach in the interactions that we will have with the youth. We really hope to learn from their opinion and experiences which can inform a more desired way to bring in DFC’s framework to Baltimore communities.

A lovely poster in Lakeland school.
