We planned to come back to Lakeland two days later the FEEL workshop, hoping to get some fresh ideas from the students right before their spring break comes around.
In order to make that happen, Sarah and I spent about 2 hours synthesizing the data from students’ interview on April 10th, Wednesday. We identified 5 themes and 5 opportunities. The 5 How Might We questions are:
- How might we build supportive relationships between students and teachers?
- How might we build supportive relationships among students?
- How might we ensure that every student in class is heard and supported?
- How might we create fun elements for every class?
- How might we maintain a neat and clean learning environment?

On April 11th, the IMAGINE workshop, we set up 5 stations with 5 different HMW prompts. We had the students visit different stations in turn and brainstorm as much ideas as possible.
At some stations, the ideas were boosted by some tangent prompts.

The brainstorming session was closed with an Idea Ranking Activity.

We gave each student a postcard that has “Hear Our Voice” on, hoping to encourage them that their voice is going to be heard, and they have to believe that.
