Let’s Do!

Workshop #4 was filled with creativity and production! First, Jade got our imaginations working with the “magic world” body-storming check-in exercise where we worked together to turn ourselves into specific objects like bananas and merry-go-rounds.

After this engaging exercise, the scholars reviewed the ideas that came out of our previous ideation session. They each voted on the ideas that thought were most important, the most fun, and the easiest to carry-out. Then they each chose one to two ideas that they wanted to create through prototyping.

We offered the scholars definitions and examples of prototypes then watched as everyone got creative and innovative with their thoughtful ideas!

After (mostly) completing their prototypes, they completed a “BIG IDEA SHEET” to explain their idea, the prototype, and the design challenge they responded to.

From there, Jade and I moved into planning for a mini-shareback session where the students could share their ideas with Faculty and Staff from Lakeland.
