To begin our final Workshop, Jade introduced the students to a quick exercise. We all got a worksheet with nine circles on it where we had to use our imagines to make each circle into something else, like a turtle shell or a face, and we got some great ideas!

We then began preparing everyone to share their ideas and prototypes. They practiced explaining their prototypes to each other and then dove into the snacks before our audience arrived.

Finally, a few teachers arrived, and the students were prepared. Each student spent a few minutes presenting, which was followed by their peers and audience offering feedback through saying what they liked about the idea, as well as what they thought could be added or altered to make their prototypes even more effective.

From this Share session, Higher Achievement’s Mr. Neyo suggested that the students Share their work with some of the school’s Administrative decision-makers! Because of this invitation and great opportunity, Jade and I hope to join our scholars one or two more times to support them in presenting and hopefully implementing their ideas!
We are looking forward to these next steps, and will continue to update the blog as we learn more.
